General Membership Meeting Sat. Jan 18, 2025

Due to the ongoing cyber attack with the UCDSB, we have decided to change the GMM meeting to strictly virtual.  At this point it is not clear whether we would have internet available at the schools by Saturday.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but we want to ensure everyone can be part of this meeting.

In Solidary

Erin Hurford

President

November is CliFF month – Let’s celebrate!

The Leeds & Grenville Labour Council is holding the “Labour Unite! Film Festival” where we will screen 4 short videos from the Canadian Labour International Film Festival about various issues the working class faces. This is a great opportunity to not only see the amazing films but also discuss labour issues with like-minded colleagues.

Join in on our “Labour Unite! Film Festival” in one of three ways:

  1. Come out to the OPSEU Regional Office (Unit 201 – 133 King Street West, Brockville) @ 6 PM on Monday, November 25, 2024 and join us in-person to view and discuss the films. FREE popcorn, candy and drinks provided.
  2. Organize your own viewing party within your union group for Monday, November 25 starting between 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Use the link below to register and receive the viewing link.
  3. Watch on your own! Use the link below to register and receive the viewing link.

Member in Good Standing & Voting

To all CUPE 5678 Members:

A number of members may be having an issue with voting during this election. This may be due to an email issue or an issue with being a member in good standing.

You have to have a CUPE email AND you have to be a Member in Good Standing.

You can request a CUPE 5678 email from the website CUPE 5678 Member Registration.  This is separate from being a member in good standing.

Please refer to the following link, https://cupe5678.ca/member-in-good-standing/ which explains what a member in good standing means.  From this link, you can also access the member in good standing list.  Your name must be on this list to vote.  If it is not on the list, there is a form attached that you need to fill out and return to info@cupe5678.ca.  Once this is completed you will receive your voting credentials.

It is important for all members to access their CUPE email to check for information not only when there is an event such as elections or bargaining so any issues can be addressed to allow for full participation.

Check your CUPE email for an OSBCU survey.

The survey pertains to your job classification, with questions specific to what you do on a daily basis. OSBCU will use the results of this survey for a service campaign and future bargaining.
Make sure you find at the bottom of the drop down box; CUPE 5678 Upper Canada District School Board and start filling in your answers.
