There are some instructions and information  regarding TEAMS, email set up.

Here is a link – Email / TEAMS Instructions – CUPE 5678

UCDSB and CUPE both use Microsoft and if you are on a device that any Microsoft applications are using your UCDSB account, when trying to use the CUPE Microsoft you may be having difficulty.

Basically if you are logged into Microsoft on another account, it won’t work.

You can log out of your UCDSB Microsoft or an easy work around would be  going incognito/inprivate on your internet browser….top right corner 3 dots, 3rd one down (either in private/incognito) ….screen will go black….

Type in www.office.com and login with CUPE email and it should work… you can also copy/click on this link Mobilization Survey from the inprivate/incognito window.

Hopefully this works.  It’s because UCDSB and CUPE  both use Microsoft…..

If you need further assistance, please call the office or email.

2.  Interim Returning Officer

CUPE 5678 Secretary Treasurer Sheila Robertson is serving as interim Returning Officer, as the local does not currently have a member attached to this position. This is a position that should ideally be held by a member of 5678, not by an elected position.  If you are interested in serving as the Returning Officer, please see the ‘Seeking Volunteers for the Election Committee’ below.

3.  Seeking Volunteers for the Election Committee

Your union is currently seeking two volunteers to serve on the Election Committee to help oversee the current campaigning and voting process.

Volunteers must be members in good standing, cannot be running for any position in the current by-election, cannot be actively campaigning for someone already nominated.

4.  Voting Period and Process

The vote for Trustee will be conducted online from Monday, November 20th to Thursday, November 23rd @ 11 pm. Specific details will be released prior to the vote.

5.  Campaigning and Campaign Materials

Nominees who wish to have campaign materials distributed to members should provide them via email to both info@cupe5678.ca AND returning.officer@cupe5678.ca

The union will make all reasonable efforts to distribute materials to members via email and courier to worksites.

We encourage all candidates to give due consideration to the way that the size, formatting, or complexity of campaign materials submitted for distribution may make it difficult of impossible for the union to provide wide distribution to the full membership.

If any candidate has any questions about the above, please reach out directly to Sheila Robertson, interim Returning Officer at returning.officer@cupe5678.ca

6.  Conduct

All CUPE 5678 members, including all nominees, are bound by the CUPE Equality Statement. Any violations of the Equality Statement occurring as part of or related to the campaign period or election should be reported to the Returning Officer at returning.officer@cupe5678.ca as soon as possible.

OMERS Webinar May 18 @ 6:30 pm Cancel the Cuts

Decision-makers at the OMERS Sponsor Corporation are currently doing a “Plan Risk Assessment” and considering potential changes to the pension you earn.

This could lead to pension cuts – unless we stop them.

Hear directly from CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn about our campaign to cancel the cuts and protect our OMERS pensions.

Every single CUPE member and every single CUPE local that participates in the OMERS pension plan has an important role to play in this campaign.
